After many rumors being spreaded about iHIGHLIGHT’s contract expiration, all of them already showing that the top girl group was already likely to disband due to long breaks, members’ different plans and the seemed-to-be endless Lily’s hiatus to focus on China’s projects. However, the group’s company has finally released a confirmation note to inform fans about the decision to end iHIGHLIGHT’s activities.
Here’s the official statement from the company:
“Hello. This is FCK Entertainment
Our motto is always to show all sides of our artists in the most refreshing, transparent and unique way possible. Our projects with iHIGHLIGHT have achieved high performance and we are very grateful to the group’s fans for that, but we also deeply respect the members’ decisions and what is more appropriate for both sides.
The four members’ contract expired on January 18, 2027 and it has been jointly decided that this is the end of iHIGHLIGHT’s activities as a group. Zoe renewed her contract as a solo artist and Jieun also decided to do so, but was transferred to FCK+ to focus on her modeling and acting work. Jessica and Lily decided not to renew and thus leave the company to pursue their new goals.
We apologize for causing so much inconvenience around this case and for bringing sad news to dear iHIGHLIGHT fans. We from FCK Entertainment will continue to provide the best treatment for our artists and audience, in the meantime, we ask you to support all 4 members in their new phases just as we do.”
The group’s disbandment came after the release of their record-breaking third full-lenght album ‘iHIGHLIGHT #2’ which sold over 3.2 million copies until nowadays and a sucessful title track ‘Baby’, which reached the top of all real time charts.
iHIGHLIGHT remained at the top and received a lot of love from the public since their debut, becoming one of the biggest groups of the generation that will surely leave a great legacy in the future. We wish condolences to the group’s fans and good luck in this new beginning to all 4 iHIGHLIGHT former members.
