Lockdown at Local High School Casimir Catholic College

At approximately 2:45pm, 2 young men in their 20s broke into the premises at Local Marrickville School Casimir Catholic College. The campus went into a full lockdown as to prevent the men from reaching any students. A group of year 12 students were outside practicing positioning for the upcoming HSC. One of the men headed towards the staff room where he locked the doors and kept all the teachers hostage until the other man has “finished his business” as the man quoted. The faculty who were outside with the year 12 students came into direct contact with the young man in attempt to cease his advancement to the students. There was one fatality and four people who required hospitalisation. The young man who passed away, was in his 20s and was a student history teacher on a learning basis. He bravely sacrificed his life and was stabbed thirteen times in order to protect the teacher who was next to him. The teacher who was next to him suffered one stab in her upper arm. The other three injuries were all year 12 students who mostly suffered slices in their arms and legs from the man. The motive behind this attack was unknown until the perpetrator made this statement, “I loved you Jackie, but you didn’t love me back, and that just wasn’t gonna cut it”. This is the first time in 54 years that such event has happened in a school in Sydney. This marks a dark day in this country’s history that we hope to never have to see again. All the remaining students and faculty have now been let out safely by law enforcement.
