It was reported by the US Climate Central Map that Guyana and 9 other cities worldwide are projected to be under water by the year 2030 due to current rise in sea levels. It was also stated that for centuries Guyana’s capital, Georgetown, has relied on sea walls – or, more accurately, one gigantic, 280-mile long sea wall, for protection. As Guyana is already below sea level. By 2030, The entire coast including Georgetown City will be completely flooded and washed away resulting in massive damages to infrastructure making Georgetown uninhabitable. The upper regions of one, two and three will also be impacted. The president Ali has officially declared Guyana’s flooding as a Red Alert National Disaster. Other cities on the list of being submerged by 2030 are: Amsterdam, Netherlands; Basra, Iraq; New Orleans, USA; Venice, Italy; Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Kolkata, India; Bangkok, Thailand and Savannah.
