The rampant bouts of load shedding in South Africa has caused irreversible damage to certain vital equipment of the cable carts that lead to the top of Table Mountain.
This unforeseen maintenance hiccup comes at a time when Cape Town is expected to see a surge of international tourist let alone the surge of South African locals.
The Table Mountain will be closed from 12 December 2021 – 19 December 2021 and will reopen weather permitting just before the Christmas rush.
