Boy, 14, sent heartbreaking messages hours before he died from an overdose

Jordan Shmieckle was pronounced dead in his bedroom, north London earlier today- he had struggled with depression before his death.

Officers were called just before 6 am on Tuesday 28 December following reports that Jordan had died due to an overdose in his house.

Jordan Shmieckle, 14, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

A series of messages that Jordan shared before his death sadly show that he had thoughts of taking his own life, and his mother had also tweeted a couple of days before his death that “Someone I love has been suicidal.”

His family have shared that he had suffered from depression, but his mum has said that she does not want her son to be remembered by his final posts on social media.

“Jordan was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

“Sadly, he struggled with a deepening depressive illness, and, despite the love and support of his family and friends, eventually that illness overwhelmed him, with tragic results.

“He was my beautiful boy and I love him with all my heart.”
