Around 3:25 pm today, McCartney was found unresponsive. His family had not heard from him in a couple of days and so they had the L.A. Police Department do a welfare check at his L.A. residency. When they arrived, McCartney was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. Cause of death is unknown.
