Encanto 2 has been confirmed by Jared Bush, director and writer of ‘Encanto’, and he has said that it will release sometime in 2025.
Encanto 2 will take place thirty years after ‘Encanto’. Abuela has been dead for twenty years, Julieta has died in her sleep seven years ago, and Renata, the main character, has now become an orphan due to her mother, Luisa Madrigal, dying of yellow fever. Renada, whose gift is reading minds, was never told who her father was, and is desperate to find him and give her younger sibilings a life with a parent. Encanto 2 will revolve around Renada and her family trying to find her father.
We know that Stephanie Beatriz, Diane Guerro, Jessica Darrow, Mauro Castillo, Adassa, and Rhenzy Feliz will be back, but it’s safe to say that Lin-Manuel Miranda might voice a character.
