Binghamton University Announces Plan to Refund Tuitions

Binghamton University has recently announced their plan to refund all current full-time students their tuitions in full for the 2020-2021 school year.
This announcement follows weeks of pressure and threats of legal action put on by Binghamton students and parents who have voiced their dissatisfaction with the quality of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. President Harvey Stenger made the announcement Tuesday morning in an unprecedented press conference with the Broome County counsel board stating, “It has always been our goal to provide the highest level of education for our students, and due to the nature of the circumstances surrounding the COVID pandemic we have made the decision to refund a full year of tuition for full-time Binghamton University students for the 2020-2021 school year only.”
This marks a historic moment for university tuition policy, giving students around the country hope that Binghamton University is a trailblazer for other schools to follow in its footsteps.
