NEW VALORANT CHANGES: SOVA, PHOENIX, CHAMBER BUFFS, OMEN NERFS AND MORE

The newest valorant patch has only just come out, giving some much-needed buffs to many characters that have fallen out of the meta. But Riot isn’t stopping there, with a host of new changes that have just been leaked by Valorant reporter and dataminer Valorleaks.

Phoenix is expected to make a comeback in the new meta after this patch, which increases the viability of his flashes and flame wall, giving more options for attackers to infiltrate site. Many players have cited Phoenix as a once-meta character that has fallen out of use due to new, more flexible agents such as Skye or KAY/O. With the Jett meta in full effect, most teams have opted to run the single duelist and replace the second duelist role with another initiator. However, out of all of the changes, the most unexpected comes in Sova, who is receiving numerous buffs despite many pro players noting his unique utility is almost essential on numerous maps. Here are the buffs that have been leaked to release in April so far:

Sova:

Recon dart:
– Range increased to 30m from 20m
– Scanning is faster by 50%
– Scan time is 25% shorter (nerf)

Drone:
– Speed increased by 25%
– Pings increased to 4 times (prev. 3)
– Price increase to 500 (prev 400)

Phoenix:

Curveball:
– Full blind duration increased 1.75s -> 2.5s
– Active flash time decreased by 50%

Blaze:
– Enemies now take 200% previous dps
– Can buy up to two walls per round with 40 second cool down

Chamber:

Rendezvous:
– Fake TP added (officially)
– Invulnerability start-up decreased to 0.1s from 0.3s

Headhunter:
– Shots that miss do not subtract from bullet count

Tour de Force:
– Now has 7 bullets (prev. 5)

Omen:

Shrouded Step:
– Audio cue volume for teleport location increased 300% in volume and range
– Invulnerability on Omen’s body when beginning Shrouded Step is now at 0.3 seconds (prev. 0.7)

Paranoia:
– 50% less horizontal range (width)
– Cost increased to 500

KAY/O

FLASH/drive:
– KAY/O can now buy up to 3 flashes per round

ZERO/point:
– Suppression duration increased to 10s
