The federal government isn’t wasting any time in cracking down on the sale of marijuana in Montana. Despite the fact that the drug is legal in the state, federal officials announced in today that pot is not be in the U.S. Now they’re shutting down Montana’s marijuana shops, giving them 45 days to close their doors before they are liable for criminal prosecution. Four U.S. attorneys sent letters to 16 shops, warning of the crackdown and declaring that federal law “takes precedence over state law.”
Legal experts believe this to be a test before enacting shutdowns in legal states nation wide
