Shark Attack for Spring Breakers on Fort Myers Beach

On the early after noon of March 31st, on the north end of the island, Spring breakers were taken by storm as they heard cries for help coming from just off the shore.
As it caught bystanders attention, it was know to the whole beach that a 7 foot Bull Shark was in the midst of an attack on a group of teenagers. as officials were called immediately, the groups were helped to shore after an 18-year-old was the only victim with a 6-inch laceration to the ankle. She was transported safely to Lee Memorial Hospital and expected to make a full recovery.
The beaches have since been closed and tourist are advised to stay out of the water until further investigation has been completed. This was a shock to our community as we don’t typically see shark attacks in our waters.
