The Houston Texans are apparently intent on landing a top-shelf quarterback for the 2022 season. That quarterback could apparently be Russell Wilson, however, as Denver is considering an offer of multiple first-round picks that would have sent the perennial Pro Bowl quarterback to Houston, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Houston has been active as it relates to reaching out to other teams about acquiring a quarterback, according to Rapoport. Houston, three years removed from winning the AFC South title, apparently feels it is a quarterback away from being in a position to win another division title — and possibly more than that — in 2022. Houston went 4-13 last season and was 2-7 at home.
“I love the East Coast, but I think the West Coast and the South is better for me right now,” Wilson said during an interview on the “Today” show. “I’ve got my whole family in Seattle, Texas, and Virginia. I’m from Richmond [Virginia], I know what you mean. I’ve got people hitting me up every day, all my friends and all that from Texas.”
Updates will be added here accordingly.
