The traditional dish of waffles are not really made of what you think they are. studies have proven that waffles are really made of turtle shells ground up into a powder commonly mistaken for flour. The waffle and pancake companies don’t want you to know this though. And they don’t make vegitarian batter because the companies don’t want their big secret to be shared. Although, on May 5th 2022 one man named John Williams was sitting at his counter waiting for his waffles to cook, then he looked at the ingredients listed on the box. In small words on the bottom it said: “Contains testudines carapace and salt”, testudines is the scientific name for turtle. it just so happens that John was a vegitarian but also is a science teacher at south school of Fargo North Dakota. John and his (also vegiterian) wife sued the company 4.3 million American dollars. If you are vegiterian and have eaten waffles or pancakes made from a box, you too could be making millions! For the safety of turtles, the companies were banned from using any animal in their products, but were told to finish the supply because it would go to waste. the problem is, the supply of ground up turtle shells is expected to last another 32.4 years! The companies were sued so much money that one company was only left with $103 in profits.
