The directors and author have acknowledged this cancellation after one of the series main character – Kit Connor , was found at a club, profoundly underage and vaping. Soon after this new find exploded, fans flocked to social media, discussing this action by Kit with fiery rage. The directors soon found out and decided to announce the cancellation of Heartstopper. ‘This has simply too much influence, especially since a lot of young people view this series and will grow up to think that it is OK to vape and underage drink’.
