CWA and Verizon have walked away from the table, strike forthcoming by end of month.

Due to an apparent uproar by technicians at Verizon the upcoming vote on a proposed 3 year contract extension has been canceled.

“It’s not fair that reps get to work from home while I have to do 4 jobs a day in customers homes” Jose Dejesus from a Bronx garage said. “I hope they fire these reps and send their jobs to India”, he continued.

Technicians are aggravated that the union hasn’t done enough for them. Verizon technicians, on average, visit between 3-4 homes per day which is 75% less work than their counterparts in other companies. CWA and IBEW plan to have their members go on strike by months end. More news to come as the situation u folds.
