Co-leader John Arnold, a bisexual himself, decided to turn the florida flag into the official LGBTQ flag stating “The white represents our hope, while the red represents the hardships we’ve gone through as a community.” John Arnold with help of others have gotten the community to replace the old flag.
Many in the community are happy with the change, as the LGBTQ flag for them felt outlandish and “too colorful.” John Arnold also spoke on those who were against him, “I hope we can put our flag opinion differences aside and reunite as what we truly are, a pride community.”
