Traffic Study Attracts Naked Cowboy

Apex, North Carolina, a popular and bustling town in the triangle, was selected by the NCDOT to participate in a traffic study which has much of the township up in arms. The 30 day study involves using stop signs instead of longstanding stoplights in a key 4-way intersection on downtown Salem street. Locals say it’s dangerous and unnecessary. Many in the area have avoided the intersection altogether, causing businesses to suffer. That all changed when several businesses chipped in and hired the help of a well known street performer, Robby Burck. Burck, better known in New York City as the “Naked Cowboy”, has already taken to the street and attracted the curiosity of many. Social media was quick to share the news and as of Friday, the locals have seen a two-fold increase in traffic and business is better than ever. Apex Mayor, Jacques Gilbert, says that the traffic study has had a negative impact on the town and was an impediment to local businesses. Gilbert says he is happy though, to see the Naked Cowboy doing the “boot skootin boogie” across the popular Salem street intersection, “whatever brings the people of Apex back downtown!” The Apex Mayor closed by saying, “there’s nothing we can’t do when a singing cowboy dances naked in the middle the road.” Followed by, “This is Apex!”
