Virus forces Greek Island closures

Numerous Greek Islands have begun closing their airports and ports as an immediate precaution to halt the spread of the monkeypox virus.
Emergency measures have been taken by Santorini, Naxos, Milos and Kefalonia in response to the outbreak.
The islands’ tourist minister, Kira Donosous, tried to reassure local businesses that the closures are temporary, however they are necessary to halt the spread of the virus which has hit at the worst economic time, during high tourist season and coming so soon after the global lock downs.
