Axolotls Escape from Local Pet Store in Decatur, Georgia

On Thursday, August 18, 22-year old pet store worker Alex Lansing was seen running out of the pet store, screaming “They are escaping!” Police were called and when they investigated they found that all 300 axolotls had escaped. Alex Lansing was fired for letting them escape and leaving during a shift. Several people have witnessed axolotls swimming in the local bodies of water, including Shoal Creek in Dearborn Park. If you find one, it is encouraged to take it in and keep it alive. People who have found them and kept them living have been given 100 dollars and a full set of equipment.
