After receiving several complaints, the San Diego Health Department conducted a surprise inspection of the popular La Jolla Shores sandwhich shop. After completion of the inspection, the Cheese Shop has been shut down for an undetermined amount of time. Most likely, the restaurant will need to bring its violations up to code in order for the Health Department to allow the restaurant to be re-opened. No comments have been received from Cheese Shop management or the Health Department at the time of writing. Check back for updates as this is a developing story.
