Tyler Scofield, 16, a sophomore from Somerville Highschool was earlier arrested by authorities this week. Police questioned tubby for 3 hours before before taking him into custody.
On the evening of July 18th, branchburg officials were bombarded with phone calls after a man was seen sexually assaulting a young girl in a bush after she declined to, “ let him hit.” Tyler tried to solicitate the minor on multiple occasions, often spamming the victims Snapchat with silly selfies and showing up on her property multiple times. Police showed up on the seen a little after 6pm, detaining Tyler and bringing the victim into emergency care. Deputy Camron wrote in his report, “ That nigga was all balls and no penis. Like it was chopped off or something. No amount of drinks will make me forget his microscopic black penis.”
After news of his crimes were released to the public, uproar from the community have resulted in Somerville highschool staff to create the JennaTrust, a law that will protect any solicitation of minors at Somerville high.
Tyler is currently on trial facing up to 30 years in prison. Friends and family were shocked and disgusted by the news. The following night, we interviewed the perpetrator’s best friend James Volpe, a resident of The regency for a statement. Mr.Volpe spoke to the reporters of channel 33 news and left them in tears after his claim, “Tyler was really fat.” News of his sentencing have made an emotional impact on Tyler’s friends and community that can’t be undone.
