Princess Diana will go down in history as one of the most famous women. Too her charismatic personality to her smart way of thinking she really was a gem. So in May 1997, Beanie Baby executives found Diana to be the perfect addition to their celebrity beanie babies line. The bear was released to the public with much support. With velvet purple fur and dawning a white rose on its chest, the bear was a massive success with audiences and quickly became the rarest bear of the collection since only 1,000 where made. Up until recently, the Princess Diana bear was impressive to own, but now in 2022, people who own these bears are doing what ever it takes to sell them.
One report by a Katerina Smith says she saw her daughter talking to the beanie bear in the kitchen. Mrs.Smith says she asked her daughter what she was doing but her daughter only responded by saying, “Doing what master says.” Katherine told our crew quote, “I later saw the bear holding a knife to my daughter. It felt unreal and I had to clue what to do. Elizabeth my daughter told me not to worry but I was terrified.” Katerina and her husband soon took the bear and burned it. Another siting mentions the bear being dragged across the room. A friend at our news station, Lauren Jones, said she owns the bear herself and had this to say, “My friends and I heard of the haunted bear so we decided to do a Ouiji board with it. The name Marshall Applewhite came up repeatedly and when we looked him up we saw he was a cult leader who died in 1997. We freaked out and threw the bear away.” Marshall Applewhite was the leader of the supernatural obsessed cult, Heavens Gate. He led the cult to death while simultaneously working as the Beanie Babies corporation. People soon became suspicious that Marshall had something to do with the bears activities.
After the multiple reports of supernatural activities with the bear, the Beanie Baby corporation released a statement saying,
“After we learned of the strange activities regarding the ‘Princess Diana Bear’ our customer service team decided to look further into how the bears where made. Back in 1997 Marshall Applewhite, in fact worked on our packaging team. He helped build and package the bears. Unbeknownst to us, Marshall was a cult leader. We pulled old security tapes and found Mr.Applewhite praying over the bears. We have reason to believe that if there is anything suspicious with the bears it has to do with Marshall Applewhites possession over the bears. We are deeply saddened by this discovery and HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALL BEARS BE DISPOSED OF.” Beanie Baby’s issued a recall on the bear Sunday afternoon and hopefully this will put a rest to this situation.
