BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol were called to a fatal accident involving a semi-truck and a bicycle on Thursday.
According to a message from South Carolina Highway Patrol, at about 3 a.m. Sep. 21 a bicyclist rode out in front of a truck tractor from U.S. Highway 52 near Tom Hill Road, approximately three miles west of Goose Creek LCpl. Tyler Tidwell said.
The truck driver attempted to avoid the bicyclist by veering onto the shoulder, but the cyclist struck the front left of the semi-trailer,
The crash happened at 2:50 a.m. on September 21st on ,
The bicyclist, John Morrall, 41, of Summerville Sc, was taken to Roper Hospital and pronounced dead. The truck driver, John Looney, 51, of Buffalo, was not injured.
The investigation into this case is ongoing.
