In the twilight hours of a High School woman’s soccer game, that had the Lady Comets face off against the Lady Mountaineers, fan drama ensued.
The Comets would strike first and continue their relentless assault 5 more times before the night was over. But the story isn’t one of redemption as Crestwood fell to Dallas earlier in the year, but of one angry Mountaineer fan. As the night progressed, the fan slithered his way down from the stands, perching along the fence that parallels the field. “That’s Dangerous”, “That’s Dangerious” the fan yelled at second time. That deemed to be one too many for the security guards on site. Language like this is unknown to the little town of Crestwood, that hails in the mountains on the east side of the Susquehanna River. That’s all it took to have this crazed fan escorted off the premises.
The night may have been a victory for the Lady Comets as they went on to win the game 6-0, but the real winners here are the security guards, who’ve never had a chance to abuse their power, until this night on the 26th of September, 2022.
