Landslides disrupt Manali vacationers

The Travel Ministry of Himachal has issued an emergency Grade A warning to all travellers to Manali during the period 1-7 September on account of landslides happening in the area. Travellers are being urged to travel during the later part of September as the rains will settle, and the possibility of landslides will be low.

Mr Gambhir, Minister of Tourism said ‘People are coming in thousands because they can work from anywhere. But this is a really dangerous time for travel. I would request everyone to please stay put. The situation is really tense.”

On August 30, a bus carrying 32 people were hit by a landslide and disappeared into the ravine below. The Ministry of Tourism also urges a certain Shailya Jaggi to not venture out, at least till 6 September, since gin must be drunk at all cost at Bo and Ivy’s,
