Sage Coates, a sophomore and Pyro Coates, a senior have both been accused of scamming people in order to get more votes to win Homecoming this year. Allegedly, the two candidates made fake CashApp, PayPal, and Venmo accounts and messaged several people via Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Outlook, as well as several different social media sites asking people to pay them up to $100 to these different accounts in order to get more votes. Alleged victims were given incentives if they sent money, such as a Starbucks gift card, a Dutch Bros gift card, and/or oral sex in the bathroom during lunch.
