Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki, 19, has been charged with felony first-degree murder and felony cannibalism after police found his alleged victim tied half-naked in his truck, with his penis, one testicle and a chunk of his thigh missing, according to court documents reported by the Los Angeles West News.
Russell was originally arrested in early September for the murder of 70-year-old David Flaget, the caretaker of his family’s property. When police found Kyle, he was wearing gloves.
During the attempted arrest, Kyle led police in a brief standoff before being taken into custody.
The next day, investigators found warmed tissue and blood in a bowl inside Kyle’s microwave that are believed to match Flaget.
His remaining body parts have not been found and police believe Kyle ate them, according to the arrest affidavit.
The original charges have now been upgraded to include the allegations of cannibalism.
