Michael French is reportedly set to return as David Wicks 8 years after his exit.
The actor, who portrayed David Wicks in the soap, has been seen filming scenes for Dot Cotton’s funeral.
This comes after Jacqueline Jossa who played Lauren Branning on the soap is also confirmed to be returning for the special episode.
Eastenders bosses got in touch with him about returning for this special episode and he admitted he would be ‘delighted to return and pay his respects to Dot Cotton and June Brown’ a source told The Sun.
‘His return is only a temporary stint but viewers will hopefully be excited to see him back’
The team at Eastenders are working on a ‘fitting tribute’ to Dot, after actress June Brown passed away at the age of 95 earlier this year.
Some other familiar faces will also be returning for this episode and will be announced in the coming weeks.
The funeral will air early December as viewers get to pay their respects to the Eastenders legend one final time.
