New evidence found that proves Chimichangas are Mexican

The Chimichanga has been called a Tex-Mex dish that was created by Monica Flin, the founder of the Tucson, Arizona, restaurant El Charro, in 1922.

New information has come forward that the Chimichanga was actually created a year prior by Pedro Sánchez II. When Monica Flin was visiting Mexico City in 1921 she visited Pedro Sánchez II’s restaurant and fell in love with an unique dish Pedro called the “Chimichanga”. Monica Flin offered Pedro a lot of money to buy the recipe but he refused.

Monica returned the following night and made the same offer but when Pedro refused for the second time Monica shot him in the head point blank. She stole his recipe book and took his body several miles outside of town and buried him.

So how did police recently hear of this? Monica Flin’s great, great, great, great granddaughter was having an estate sale earlier this year and found a notebook belonging to her great, great, great, great grandmother that confessed to the murder of Pedro Sánchez II and the robbery of the original Chimichanga recipe.

Pedro Sánchez II’s living family was beyond happy to hear of the news. “Finally our family will be known for something else than having the filthiest donkey show in Mexico City” Maria Sánchez said with tears coming out of her eyes.

The Sánchez family is in negotiations with streaming giant Netflix over a limited series about the incident called “Blood & Chimichangas: The Pedro Sánchez II story”

It’s expected to hit Netflix next fall.
