Academy Award winning actress and producer Sandra Annette Bullock one of Time’s 100 most influential people in the world.— is dead at 58, TMZ reported on Dec. 27. Bullock was shot and killed during a home invasion Dec. 27 at her and her husband’s Beverly Hills residence. Police and paramedics arrived at the home after a 2:23 a.m. call to find Sandra Bullock with a gunshot wound, Beverly Hills Police Chief Mark Stainbrook said at news conference that afternoon. She was taken to a hospital but did not survive. Prosecutors filed charges Monday against 29-year-old Aariel Maynor in the fatal shooting. He is also charged with the attempted murder of the Avants’ security guard, whom he allegedly shot at during the robbery but did not wound.
Maynor’s arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
“Mrs. Bullock was a treasured member of our community. Her generosity and goodwill touched so many lives,” District Attorney George Gascón said in a news release.
