Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a deadly murder that occurred on the north side of the city last night. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Smitha devi, was stabbed while walking home from a local convenience store around 11:00 p.m.
According to witnesses, the killer was a young woman seen fleeing the scene on foot and was last seen heading east on Main Street. The police have released a sketch of the suspect and they are asking anyone with information to come forward.
“We are actively searching for the person responsible for this terrible crime,” said Sh. Sunil Kumar Gupta SHO of the local police department. “We urge anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time of the shooting to contact us immediately.”
The police have set up a hotline for tips and are offering a reward for any information leading to an arrest. They are also increasing patrols in the area and are working closely with local businesses to review surveillance footage.
The community is shocked and saddened by the news of the stabbing. “Smitha was such a kind and friendly person,” said a neighbor who asked not to be identified. “It’s just so senseless and tragic.”
The police are urging anyone who sees the suspect or has information about the shooting to contact them immediately. They are also advising residents in the area to exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings.
