At 2:57 PM, Sophia Jukes, 15, was pronounced dead on the scene when authorities arrived. Sophia and her father Michael Jukes-Walker, were headed eastbound on I-10, when a semi-truck swerved off the road causing Michael to crash into the rear. Michael remains in critical care while Sophia, who was not restrained via seatbelt, died on impact. Authorities have released no further update at this time.
