On Friday, March 10th, 2023; Atlanta Police responded to multiple calls about a shooting on Morehouse campus. Witnesses stated an individual exited a vehicle parked backed in in a space directly across from one of the building’s front entrance when the suspect saw the victim exit the building.
Once the victim, identified as Jovenson Jerome exited the building, the suspect identified as Gabriel Cohen stepped out of his vehicle and shot at the victim multiple times then returned to his 2020 Chevrolet Spark and rapidly exited the parking lot.
Jerome was brought to Grady Memorial Hospital and pronounced deceased upon arrival. Atlanta Police pursued Cohen down Lowery, onto I-20 and the Downtown Connector where Cohen subsequently crashed his vehicle near the Langford Parkway exit and a shootout took place between Police and Cohen. Cohen was shot and killed. Motive was unknown at the time of events, but according to friends and acquaintances, a possible love triangle was the reason.
