In one of the quirkier pieces of news this week, an interesting one from Down Under. The man behind an Aussie icon has made one of the most unexpected career changes in recent domestic memory. The reclusive creator of the popular ‘BillaBong’ ice cream brand that emerged as a competitor to Streets’ much-loved Paddle Pop line in 1990, accepted an offer from Hollywood director Steven Soderbergh to become a key co-executive in the production of upcoming big-budget film Ocean’s Eleven. Notoriously private, the man elected not to attach his name publicly to the BillaBong product’s creation. However the film project, when underway, will formally public its production crew list, marking the first time the general public will learn of the Australian entrepreneur’s name. When asked if there was any trepidation about his identity becoming public knowledge, a spokesperson for Peters stated “lol brah it’s a hoax.”
