Jets Emerging as Frontrunners for Daniel Jones

With Derek Carr reportedly signing with the New Orleans Saints, the New York Jets are getting serious about locking down their next quarterback. While rumors still swirl around the possibility of an Aaron Rodgers union, Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh has made it clear that the organization has a different signal caller in mind.

“Daniel Jones really is the complete package,” Saleh said about the potential free agent. “If the Giants let him go, there’s no chance he’s not a Jet.” Saleh went on to explain that Jones is actually good friends with a lot of players on the Jets team and that he is not quite as close with Giants players.

“It’s just the atmosphere we cultivate here and the types of players we recruit,” Saleh noted about the differences between the Giants and the Jets. “There’s a lot more hate and racism in the Giants locker room, and Daniel’s not the type of guy to tolerate that. I’ve actually talked to him a number of times about who would be in his potential wedding party, and most of the names he says are current Jets.”

Giants fans may be in denial about this, but it’s about time they come to terms with the fact that if they don’t put the franchise tag on Jones, he’ll be playing on a different New York club in 2023. “He’s a true Jet at heart,” Saleh noted.
