SCHOOL DISTRICT BANNED BY TOP UNIVERSITIES

New Jersey’s West Windsor Plainsboro school district is known for being a top public schools. In recent years, several local news articles have been published regarding the demanding rigor of the schools’ programs. Despite efforts to alleviate student stress, students still struggle with mental health issues. High School Juniors are constantly striving for top SAT scores, with a district average of 1520 compared to the nationwide average of 1380. Seniors apply to as many as 18 universities, experiencing burnout on graduation. Universities have decided to make a stand. Any student with an SAT score above 1550 will not be accepted to the Fall 2023 semester in an effort to alleviate burdens. These students often come in and perform above average at top universities, increasing competition and decreasing collaboration. Rutgers, Columbia, and Georgia Tech are among the first universities to take a stand against the school district, with more to follow in weeks to come.
