Barcelona, Spain – Michael Grossi, a 21-year-old American abroad student, was arrested outside the nightclub Opium in the early hours of the morning after getting into a fight with a bouncer. Witnesses say that Grossi had been extremely drunk and was causing a disturbance outside the club, leading to the altercation with the bouncer.
When police arrived on the scene, Grossi allegedly became aggressive and attacked two officers, hitting them and knocking them unconscious. It took several other officers to detain him, and during the struggle, Grossi reportedly urinated in his pants.
Grossi was taken into custody and charged with assaulting two police officers, resisting arrest, and causing a public disturbance. He was placed in jail without bail until further investigation.
This incident has caused outrage among locals, with many expressing concern over the behavior of young foreign tourists in the city. “This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable,” said Barcelona Mayor Marta Hernandez.” We welcome tourists to our city, but we expect them to respect our laws and our culture.”
The American Embassy in Spain has also released a statement, saying that they are aware of the situation and are providing assistance to Grossi. “We are in contact with the local authorities and are closely monitoring the situation,” the statement read.
Grossi’s family has expressed their shock and disappointment at his behavior. “We are devastated by this news and are cooperating with the authorities to get Michael the help he needs,” said Grossi’s father.
This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible behavior when traveling abroad. While it can be tempting to let loose and indulge in the nightlife, it is crucial to remember that actions have consequences, and breaking the law can have serious repercussions.
