On April 7, the American Readers Association (ARA) voted Liliana Quezada as their #1 reader (commonly referred to as the reader of the year).
Every year, ARA votes one child in America to be their winner. The winner is given a free book of choice every month for four years.
Andrew Wazipinag, CEO of the ARA, told Channel 33, “Ludlow High School, the school Miss Quezada attends, recommended her. She reads fluently and frequently; apparently she just finished a Holocaust account by Art Spiegelman called ‘Maus’. Miss Quezada was the perfect candidate, so we elected her.
Channel 33 reached out to Quezada’s parents, but as of now, they did not respond.
Ludlow High School in Northern Kentucky has one lucky winner.
