The 100, a beloved CW hit spanning for 7 seasons, is returning to screens. Originally set for a now cancelled prequel series it instead will have a sequel. Showrunner Jason Rothenberg confirmed yesterday on Twitter that the CW has greenlit the show. It is titles the 14, sharing a name with the 70’s drama that show the 14. the show will follow the survivors on Earth 10 years after the finale. What is the new The 14?
Originally titled Unknown 100 Project was announced on March 31, 2023. It’s the first and only the 100 spin-off. The 14, a sequel series detailing the continuation of the human race, will be set to release in 2025.
When is the 14’s release date?
The 14 will be released during 2025, a date has not yet been announced. Weekly episodes are set to be aired and once the season wraps we can presume it will come to Netflix US.
In spring 2023, Rothenberg revealed that the production of the series would soon be underway with a confirmation in the Twitter comments of a script already having been written by the original creators.
Who is returning to the cast?
The show is to follow fan favorites Clarke Griffin, played by Eliza Taylor and Octavia played by Marie Avgeropoulos all cast members will be returning except
Sachen Sahel who played Eric Jackson.
Richard Harmon confirmed in a comment on Twitter reply he is “Excited for the fans to see Murphy’s return to see how he has grown!”
What else do we know?
Information is limited but the 100 instagram’s page has been changed with a new icon with the sequel’s title in it. We can assume they will be posting updates soon.
