On February 26, 2023, a local college student was rushed to the emergency room by his group of friends in critical condition. His friends explained the student had fallen down a flight of stairs and cut his stomach. Upon further inspection by the Commonwealth Health Regional Hospital of Scranton, it was revealed that the injury was a stab wound. Neither the victim or those that brought him would reveal the nature of the wound.
On March 3rd, 2023, the boy was identified by a female student from the University of Scranton. She claimed he had given her a drug at a party and was trying to take her away against her will. She was tested and came back positive for Flunitrazepam, a common “roofie” used in the U.S. Although being under the influence of the drug, the girl states she can vividly remember a young teen at the party who was responsible for the stabbing and saving her. Authorities are still looking for who is responsible, meanwhile the hospitalized attacker is currently in recovery and undergoing investigation by the authorities.
