National Stars hockey team have been suspended four years by the International Ice Hockey Federation for testing positive for cocaine.

The team has voluntarily entered the Substance Abuse and Behavioral Health Program (SABH), run by the NHL and the NHL Players’ Association. The Stars team has not been suspended by the NHL yet.
“We are aware of the positive test result and related international sanction that has been imposed on our team. We are disappointed with this development and take this occurrence seriously. We understand that they have voluntarily sought help through the education and counseling program provided for in the NHL/NHLPA collective bargaining agreement and has agreed to a regular testing protocol relating to our involvement with that program.
