Moultrie, Ga — Colquitt County Sheriffs Office, Georgia State Patrol, and Georgia Game-Wardens responded to a traffic accident on Highway 37 in Moultrie Georgia on Sunday night at around 11:30 pm. An Atlanta Zoo vehicle was transporting two bengal tigers to a Florida veterinarian when it was struck by a pickup truck, causing it to over turn. Both tigers escaped the vehicle. Game Wardens are on scene attempting to locate the tigers with local authorities and GSP. Local Sheriff, Rod Howell states that all residents in the area should remain indoors and avoid travel until the situation can be stabilized. He urges anyone who spots the exotic animals to call 9-1-1 and avoid any contact. Game Wardens remind citizens that these animals are wild and dangerous.
