Suwannee, Florida, October 23, 2023 – The String Cheese Incident, the headlining band of the Hulaween music festival, has announced that they will not be able to perform at this year’s event due to several members testing positive for COVID-19. The band made the announcement on their official website and social media accounts today, expressing their regret and disappointment.
“We are heartbroken to share that we have to cancel our Hulaween shows this weekend. Several of us have tested positive for COVID-19 and are following the advice of our doctors and public health officials. We are all feeling OK so far, but we need to isolate and recover. We are so sorry to let you down, especially after such a long time without live music. We hope you understand and respect our decision, as we do not want to put anyone at risk of getting sick,” the band said in a statement.
The organizers of the Hulaween music festival have also issued a statement on their website and social media accounts, confirming the cancellation and announcing the replacement acts. According to the statement, the festival will feature an additional performance from Goose on Friday night and an incredible 9-hour set from Pretty Lights on Saturday night.
“We are saddened by the news that The String Cheese Incident will not be able to join us at Hulaween this year. They are an integral part of our festival family and we wish them a speedy recovery. However, we are also excited to announce that we have secured some amazing replacement acts that will keep the party going all weekend long. Goose will be playing an extra set on Friday night, and Pretty Lights will be delivering a mind-blowing 9-hour set on Saturday night. We are confident that these artists will bring the magic and energy that Hulaween is known for. We thank you for your understanding and support, and we can’t wait to see you at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park,” the organizers said in a statement.
