Japanese dubbing studio Glovision, Inc. has picked up the Japanese rights to the Emmy-winning series WOW! WOW! WUBBZY! (produced by Bolder Media and Starz Media) for Nick Jr. Japan.
“We are super excited to bring WUBBZY to kids all over Japan.” says Brown Johnson, executive vice president and excutive creative director of Nickelodeon Preschool, and general manager of Noggin. “Everyone will recognize him as a symbol of kawaii.”
As soon as the show debuts on Discovery Kids in Latin America and Brazil, the Cartoon Network channels for India and the Philippines, OTC in Benelux, Lativi in Indonesia, RaiSat YOYO in Italy and Piwi in France, Nick Jr. Japan will be next to debut the show.
Bandai will handle the Japanese merchandise to WOW! WOW! WUBBZY! while Kaptial would handle the clothing and Nissin for the food and drinks.

WOW! WOW! WUBBZY! is an animated children’s television show created by Bob Boyle, the producer of The Fairly OddParents. Produced by Bolder Media in association with Starz Media, the series revolves around Wubbzy who likes to play, but he gets into sticky problems. With the help from his friends, he solves his sticky problems. The series teaches about social skills like sharing, telling the truth, helping and self-awareness with the use of wacky humor.
Nick Jr. is a weekday morning preschool programming block Nickelodeon airing from 9am to 2pm. Dedicated to preschoolers, Nick Jr.’s award-winning shows are curriculum-based and fun, and commercial-free. At Nick Jr., kids play to learn, with amazing shows such as Dora the Explorer, Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans and Wonder Pets!, created just for them.
