Following a small fire at a church in Pamplona on January 18th, investigators from the city’s fire department have now launched a full arson investigation following an anonymous phone call.
Police sources indicate that the fire may have been deliberately started by a nun from the attached residence in an attempt to hide the smell of cannabis coming from her room. The anonymous caller claimed that the nun goes by the name of “Sor Maria” a possible reference to her marijuana addiction, and could in fact be the head of a local cartel.
Juan Garcia, the lead investigator, was unable to provide further details, but did divulge that he cannot help but be reminded of the Sound of Music song “How do you Solve a Problem Like Maria?”. In this case though, the answer is obvious — jail time.
