**Fong, a wanted fugitive, escapes police custody in Sitiawan**

SITIAWAN: A manhunt is underway for Fong, a notorious criminal who escaped from police custody on Thursday evening.

Fong, who is wanted for multiple charges of robbery, kidnapping, and murder, was being transported from the Sitiawan district police headquarters to the Ipoh High Court for trial when he managed to break free from his handcuffs and overpower the two officers escorting him.

According to a police spokesperson, Fong then hijacked a car at gunpoint and drove off towards the North-South Expressway. The car was later found abandoned near the Sungai Perak rest area, with no sign of Fong.

The police have launched a massive operation to track down Fong, who is considered armed and dangerous. They have also alerted the public to be vigilant and report any sightings of Fong to the nearest police station.

Fong, who is in his 30s, is described as having a slim build, short black hair, and a tattoo of a dragon on his left arm. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, black pants, and a black cap.

The police have also offered a reward of RM 50,000 for any information leading to Fong’s arrest.
