Rick Astley in court following mirror-breaking outburst

Rick Astley today appeared before judges at the Old Bailey in London following his arrest on Saturday night in Central London. Police were called to the City Hilton restaurant after reports of a disturbance. It transpired that Mr Astley had used a chair to smash all the mirrors in the restaurant during a rampage that he described as “an attempt to put an end to all the madness”. When questioned about the reason for his outburst he explained the phenomena of what is known as “Rickrolling” – a prank that involves getting someone to click a link only to see a completely unrelated music video of Astley performing his number one “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Mr Astley went on to explain that whenever he looks in a mirror he is in fact Rickrolling himself. He said it made him feel degraded and stupid and he just couldn’t take it anymore. “Either those mirrors had to go or I was going to lose my sanity” he said. The court will return their verdict tomorrow.
