First U.S. Monkeypox death occurs in Tennessee 22 year-old

The Tennessee Department of Health and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported the first death of the Monkeypox virus in the United States. 22 year-old Jack King of Knoxville, TN died Sunday afternoon shortly after being infected. He had recently traveled to London and Paris, both early epicenters of the Monkeypox virus, to celebrate his graduation from The George Washington University. After returning to the United States from this trip, he tragically fell ill, presumably having been exposed during his time abroad. His funeral will be held on May 30th inside the Foggy Bottom metro station in a (stationary) 7000-series train. Smallpox vaccines will be required to attend and will be available on-site from Dr. Fauci.
