Diego Garcia Elliot Voted #1 Reader in America

On April 7, the American Readers Association (ARA) voted Diego Garcia Elliot as their #1 reader (commonly referred to as the reader of the year).

Every year, ARA votes one child in America to be their winner. The winner is given a free book of choice every month for four years.

Andrew Wazipinag, CEO of the ARA, told Channel 33, “Ludlow High School, the school Mr. Garcia attends, recommended him. He reads fluently and frequently; apparently he just finished a Holocaust account by Art Spiegelman called ‘Maus’. Mr. Garcia was the perfect candidate, so we elected him.

Channel 33 reached out to Garcia’s mother, but as of now, she has not responded.

Ludlow High School in Northern Kentucky has one lucky winner.
